I just self published a book in London England, where I live, about a musician who is well known in the US. I want to promote the book in the US a well. To whom do I send press releases? Any ideas for publicity and promotion would be much appreciated.

Re: Self Publishing
Mon, June 13, 2005 - 9:45 PMHave you tried appealing to the musician? They might be flattered enough to help or direct you to someone to their agent... if the musician is deceased, you'd be best to contact the estate.
If nothing else, you should get permission so you don't get sued.

Re: Self Publishing
Sun, November 23, 2008 - 8:08 PMHi. Congrats again on your book! Promoting your book is key after it is already published and after finding your niche market, you can then focus on marketing your book there.
You can actually seek promotional help through self-publishers such as Xlibris because they have programs that can help self-published authors gain maximum exposure from being listed at the Library Journal, being on book shows, being reviewed by Kirkus and all that jazz.
