Hello everyone,
I'm looking to create my first book this month. I'm going to be printing it myself, and I'd like to just do it on my deskjet printer, keep it simple. The only thing is, I'm not sure what kind of paper to go with. Are there any good kinds of paper that any of you know of that would be good for double-sided printing and come at 8.5" x 11"? Should I go with some kind of cheap cardstock? Thanks.

Re: Paper Question
Thu, October 12, 2006 - 3:56 PMVisit you local paper store - should be on in Chicago and tell them what you're using to print with and they'll tell you what will work best for the type of printer. If you're using an inkjet printer, you don't want a paper that will smear easily. Also depend if you want a cheap quick product or something that you expect whomever will be getting a copy will want to have around for a while...

Re: Paper Question
Fri, October 13, 2006 - 12:57 AMI've made inkjet booklets (staple-bound) and find that medium card stock (Wausau brand) works nicely as opposed to heavy card stock.
The thickness does limit the number of pages however.
I think the biggest drawback with inkjet is the fact that the image/text bleeds if it gets wet, which bugs me a bit because I'm neurotic and I worry about the elements and careless handling... reader drool etc.
Hope this helps you.
